More names announced as the hottest talent in the audio universe take to the stage at the Radio Academy Festival on Tuesday 12th September 2023.

Taking place at the Royal College of Physicians in London’s Regent’s Park, the Festival presents three stages of unmissable discussion, inspiration and entertainment on Sound Connections – why they matter, where they come from and what they’ll look like in the future.

And there’ll be endless opportunity for everyone to create some sound connections of their own. Whether it’s meeting up with old friends or making new ones, this year’s Festival conversations will shape the future of the audio and radio industry.

In a Festival first, BBC Radio 2’s Vernon Kay will be joined by former fellow jungle-mate Victoria Derbyshire to share what it's like to step into such an iconic radio slot, and how he has connected with mid-morning listeners during his first few months in the job.

Comedian, broadcaster and self-confessed hip-hop nerd Romesh Ranganathan brings the passion and knowledge featured in his ARIA-winning For The Love of Hip Hop (Folded Wing for BBC Radio 2) in a conversation with BBC Radio 1Xtra's DJ Ace.

Ben Cooper, Chief Content & Music Officer, Bauer Media Audio UK returns to the Festival to celebrate 50 years of Commercial Radio with the help of Greatest Hits Radio legends, Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo.

Nicole Logan, Head of Development and Executive Producer for acclaimed production company Reduced Listening, and Rosie Turner, Comedy Creator, Presenter and LGBTQ+ relationship guru, will be joined by audio experts to explore the myth of the hard-to-reach audience and how to connect with different audiences in different ways

Times Radio podcaster and award-winning journalist Manveen Rana, BBC 1Xtra Talks presenter Richie Brave and Head of Studios UK & Ireland at Spotify, Chris Baughen will discuss the deep connections forged through storytelling with Director of Folder Media & Podcast Discovery, Matt Deegan.

Following the huge success of their podcast, The Rise and Fall of Britpop BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio 2's Jo Whiley reflect on their 30 years on air and discuss their passion for connecting their listeners with new and exciting music.

Writer, actor and comedy improviser Sadie Clark will share how Algorithms her debut play turned podcast (RooksNest for Audible) picked up an ARIA for Best Drama.
