About The ARIAS

The ARIAS are the UK audio and radio awards presented annually to recognise, honour and reward outstanding shows and the teams behind them.  Judged by over 200 senior audio and radio practitioners, drawn from all sectors of the industry, it is a huge accolade to be nominated.

The ARIAS are a celebration of the very best of UK audio and radio.  They are open to all UK-based content creators who are members of The Radio Academy.

Entries for nominations are now open via our Awards website.

  • Earlybird: £40+VAT - until 10th January
  • Standard: £55+VAT
  • Community Station of the Year: half price entry fee for this category (discount applied to earlybird and standard prices)

The Radio Academy is the UK’s charity that supports people in audio and radio. We run events and programmes throughout the year designed to bring together our audio community to nourish and inspire each other, cutting across competitive divides. We aim to highlight the personal and social impact that audio has with our listeners and to celebrate all the incredible people who make it possible.

Podcasting, Seriously Awards Fund

The Radio Academy is delighted to partner again with Podcasting, Seriously Awards Fund, to help make an ARIAS award entry as accessible as possible to our members. The fund reimburses the cost of entering audio awards for independent audio producers of colour and those that identify as LGBTQ+. For more information on how to apply to the fund, or to donate please visit their website.

Editorial Independence at The ARIAS

Since 2023 we have worked with an independent editorial advisor at the ARIAS, to offer guidance and recommendations to judges. They do not have executive decision making, which remains uniquely with the judges, but may offer recommendations and context as appropriate.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at The ARIAS

Inclusivity is an integral part of The Radio Academy’s Values: we strive to be representative of the sector and the UK population in all that we do. In 2024 we will be working with an independent EDI consultant to offer support and guidance to ensure that equity is embedded at the heart of the ARIAS. This includes offering insights into best practice and highlighting the impact of, for example, unconscious bias when judging entries.

At The Radio Academy, we are committed to advancing equity, and to an accessible, inclusive and safe industry. We welcome feedback and collaboration, please get in touch here.
